Is It Work, or a Lifestyle?

There are two things that my friends find surprising, OK maybe 3:
  1. I travel more now than I ever have
  2. It's Friday night at 7:30pm and I'm working
  3. I'm looking forward to some "office time" tomorrow
The misconception here is whether I'm actually working (when travelling so much) and why I give up Friday nights and Saturday mornings to spend time catching up.
The answer, truthfully, is that this isn't "work" for me, it is my lifestyle.
And comparing their work (stuck in an office on a beautiful day, set vacation weeks), I'll take my lifestyle. I've worked hard for it, and I love it.
Let's take my surprising facts from the beginning.
  1. I travel more now than I ever have - How much fun is that! Yes, sometimes I travel for a true "shut off the email" vacation, but other times I'm just going along for the ride. I just returned from another adventure and worked more than 50% of the time. I successfully put in a full work day while on the plane; I am the master of working offline. During my 5 day trip I only actually took one day off.

  2. It's Friday night and I'm working - now I'll admit I'm sitting outside on the patio, not tucked into my office, but I am working. Why? I happen to be creative on Friday nights, and I wanted to share this time with you. I've had a busy week, and its Friday night quiet time when my mind roams, and I start pondering business, the challenges of the week, and many times this forms the basis of the blogs. But tonight, I'm sitting outside with my laptop, just so thankful for the lifestyle I have, and that includes this time with you. Not thankful, however, for the massive spider making its way over here... this is why I don't often work outside!

  3. And tomorrow, yes, I will work tomorrow morning. I have a cute little project that I've just started working on, and I've set aside "date time" with it. I have my morning planned, a good cup (OK, pot) of coffee and back outside I go to let my mind explore what's possible. I'm actually very excited about it, and have been planning it over the last few days.
What some consider work, is my lifestyle. The creative process is important to me, giving myself the space to explore the projects in front of me while my mind is relaxed and at ease is an indulgence I take seriously. I appreciate the concerns of my clients, and don't mind checking in over the weekend, if that's what helps them. We're partners, and we're on this journey together. Checking in, isn't work. It's a privilege to be on this journey with my clients.
My hope is for more of my colleagues (and friends) to break free of the concept of work, and explore their entrepreneurialism as a lifestyle, as bliss, and as an expression of their passion. Work should be what's in your heart, what your soul is telling you, and where your dreams lead you.
And if it isn't... how can you get there?
Share with us your lifestyle goals - and let's dream a way for you to get there, together.

Why Do Entrepreneurs Struggle?

Great Day, Attractive Thinker! It Is a Great Day to Be Alive!
As an Entrepreneur, there are a lot of goals to be accomplished! Products have to be created, services must be provided, and customers and clients need to be served! When pursuing new goals, the mind must also be aligned with the goal in order for it to be accomplished. The mind is currently "set" to the current status of the business. When the conscious desire is to reach a new goal, the subconscious mind must be informed! Everyone has 2 minds: a conscious mind (this is the mind that you use everyday to get through your day) and a subconscious mind (this is where your core beliefs, true feelings, and emotions are).
When these 2 minds are not aligned, it presents a struggle. This struggle appears as a starting and stopping motion. You attempt to take action on your goal and you're actually stopped in your tracks. The conscious mind attempts to move forward on the goals that you have for your business, yet because the subconscious mind is not engaged in the process, it pulls you right back to where you were. It's just like getting dressed to go on a family vacation. You walk out of the front door to load up the car and you turn around and your family is still in pajamas, simply lounging around in the living room. You're moving forward, but they weren't informed!
In order to end the entrepreneurial struggle, the subconscious mind must be informed of your new goals. These new goals must become your new beliefs in order to become your new reality! Repetitive affirmations, vision boards, meditation, and visualization of your new goals are life-altering tools that imprint your new goals into your subconscious mind.
Your Attractive Thinker Assignment:

10 Tips to Start a Service Business

Are you going to start a service business? Do you have no idea as to how to go about it? If so, we suggest that you check out the following tips from experts.
Set and define your goals
First of all, you should set your goals and define them. Typically, service businesses don't require as much capital as other businesses. Aside from this, they are not as scalable as other businesses. So, what you need to do is set your goals and then define them.
Business anchors
You may want to choose a good business anchor. Ideally, they should be a former employer or client.
First clients
You should understand that getting your first client is your first milestone. What you need to do is serve your first few clients very well. They should be happy. Moreover, if you want to develop a strong relationship with the clients, make sure you give them a discount.
Find a Focus
You should be different from other service providers who offer similar services. If you don't be different, you won't be able to make a difference. As a result, your product will not entice the potential buyers. Your clients should be able to differentiate your products from those of your competitors. This is what we mean by finding a focus.
Blogging and social media
For marketing, blogging and social media are your best tools. You should create and publish content that can validate your expertise. Today, your marketing is a lot cheaper than it was a few years ago. In the past, people had to get through strict editors and publishers in order to get the word out about their expertise. They had to write books and articles as well. Nowadays, you can post on Twitter, Facebook and your own blog. So, you don't have to rely so much on editors and publishers nowadays.
Logo and look
We suggest that you choose your logo wisely and spend on it after a lot of thinking. Actually, your website and logo should be professional and this is really important. Nowadays, it's not about stationary or business cards anymore. This is your representation.
Don't overspend
It's not a good idea to spend the money you don't have. As a matter of fact, you will get tons of suggestions that can help you make more money later on, such as marketing programs and mail lists.
Don't lose a client
For the success of your business, make sure you keep all of your clients. As a matter of fact, keeping existing clients is a lot cheaper than looking for new ones. It's a good idea to go the extra mile to keep your old clients satisfied.
Know your numbers
You should understand the difference between money in the bank, sales, cash and profits. This is very important.
Don't compromise on integrity
Compromising on your integrity is not a good idea. Your success or failure depends upon your reputation. You should try your level best to maintain your credibility.
Hopefully, these 10 tips will help you run your service business with success.

Why You Shouldn't Rely On Motivation As An Entrepreneur

Do you know the one thing you should never rely on as an entrepreneur?
Motivation.
Why?
Because your motivation changes faster than David Beckham's haircut.
Think about it.
Let's say you watch a "motivational" video...
You're all pumped up...
You're gonna be the next Bill Gates...
You're invincible...
No one's gonna stop you.
And then...
Two hours later...
You're on the sofa with a large bowl of ice cream watching Jeremy Kyle.
(Okay, you might not sink that low.)
But you get the point.
Motivation is short term... VERY short term.
And as an entrepreneur, I'm afraid to say you have to play the long game.
So what can you do instead?
Well, have a long term goal... Decide what you want to achieve in ten years time. And I mean, really decide what you want to achieve.
When goal-setting, people tend to set goals they think they want, but it's not what they actually want. So if you don't really care about driving the latest Ferrari, don't set it as a goal.
Be specific with your goals, too. If goal setting is to work, this is important.
Write everything down in detail.
Paint a word picture of your ideal home...
Your ideal holiday...
You ideal life.
Anyway, when it comes to goal-setting you should also have a medium goal...
As well as a weekly (or even daily) short term goal.
Then make a plan so you smash every goal you set.
That's it.
No, it's nothing "ninja".
But, is it effective?
Absolutely.
Because you're not relying on motivation to get you through the day.
Instead, you're relying on your goal.
Anyway, no matter what your goals are when it comes to being successful as an entrepreneur, email marketing can help you achieve them.

Is Starting a Business the Right Move For You?

Dream Big
Dream big, work hard, and stay humble are the best words of advice anyone can give you, and self-belief goes a long way. It's okay for young entrepreneurs to have big dreams; don't underestimate what you are capable of. Steve Jobs was only 21 when he co-founded Apple. Don't let the opinions of others impact your future. Don't just think you can do it... KNOW you can do it. Believe in yourself and your dreams. Include others and get help from people you trust, people who have achieved what you want to achieve, to fulfill your dreams.
I'm proud to say that many have helped me along my path, and I've helped many. Without the help of people more experienced than myself, my latest achievement wouldn't have been possible. Many others were a part of my newest project, an e-book about photography, and it's one of my greatest joys to help other dreamers succeed as well. From the business owners and clients I serve, to the talented team I've hired and trained, to other entrepreneurs and friends who are business owners.
Work Hard
Working hard is a relative concept; the hours we work, how hard we work, and the magnitude of what we're trying to achieve are as different as each of us. But "hard work" has a common denominator no matter which way you slice it: how you handle yourself when things go wrong. Because they will. The next best piece of advice anyone can give you is this: be resilient when things get hard. You'll get rejected, over and over again, but don't lose faith in your goals. You may fail in the beginning more than you'll walk the path of success, but if you dream big, work hard, and fight failure, you'll change history by making it better.
Stay Humble
Another one of my favorite nuggets of wisdom: don't be a jerk. This world needs fewer loud mouths. Just stay humble. Most successful people don't take credit for the work they do. Instead, they build up their team or others around them. Ordinary people do change the world; it doesn't matter where you come from, what school you went to, or how you grew up. Don't let anyone ever tell you no as you keep moving your dreams forward, but at the same time, keep a humble attitude on your way to the top and remember that you can always learn, grow, improve, and benefit from the knowledge of others.
Passion
While all of this lofty advice sounds great, your passion for what you love to do is a must. Without it, none of this other stuff matters. Writers, athletes and even scientists, famous or not, love what they do because it's their passion. You have to find yours. Define what you love to do and why you love to do it. Be specific: what do you love about the field you're pursuing? Is it helping people? Is it being creative? Is it the feeling you get when someone responds a certain way to your work? Is it being part of something larger than yourself?
Being a business owner is not about calculating figures, networking, balancing your finances and profit margins. Many successful business owners associate their business with passion and love, even when they face challenges, work long hours, and experience financial difficulty. Things can get scary and tough: your passion is the only thing that will carry you through the turbulence. It's important to not just like what you do; you have to LOVE what you do.
Reevaluate Where You Are
If you are stressed at your job 8 hours a day, you may want to rethink what you are doing professionally. When you are stressed doing what you love, it feels more like 15 minutes of your day versus 8 hours. Being fully invested in something that is your passion and not just filling a role makes time feel different, changes your energy, and makes everything about what you do and how you produce better. Find your niche, whether it's people, a product, or a field. And once you find it, while you'll most likely love the majority of what you do, there may be aspects of the business you don't like.
When we turn a passion into a business, especially when we own that business, we have to wear many hats... some of which are less enjoyable than others. For example, finances and accounting aren't my forte or my passion, but I make sure the stuff I don't like takes up only 20% of my time so that the stuff I love takes up 80%. If these figures are ever flipped, you're doing it wrong.
Ambition or Passion?
Don't mistake ambition for passion. Wanting to advance and striving to get ahead are ambitious qualities. Taking on projects and filling your plate are ambitious. Stepping into unknown territory and taking risks are ambitious. But if ambition isn't fueled by passion, it will be easy to burn out. Your motivation has to be right if you plan to stay the course. Many business owners seem overly ambitious, but honestly they just love what they do. That passion will make you believe in yourself even more, helping you to pursue things you might otherwise be afraid of or not care to. Of course, you have to be smart about it (sometimes an excess of passion can make people reckless), but If you love what you do, you tend to do a lot. That's why you'll be perceived as ambitious.
Finding the One
Finding your passion is a journey in itself. The discovery process is an amazing, transformative experience that you'll look back on with awe. You may not know right now what your passion is, but keep pushing forward and you'll find it. Sometimes passion may find you as well, so let yourself be inspired. Tune in to the things that make you tick, make you think, make you feel.
Most people find their passion by just getting out there and trying different things. Eventually something is going to stick and you'll come up with an idea that you know will work, and you'll love turning it into a new reality for yourself. Finding your passion is like finding your true love. You'll go on many dates and, ten dates later, you'll find "the one."
Redefining Your Goals
What is your life goal? If it's "to get rich," you have the wrong mindset. What do millionaires and billionaires say? When they started out, they loved doing what they did, and the money just happened. You may have to walk away from a secure job and start anew with a lower-paying position or bringing in very little money when you first strike out on your own. But your passion will translate to the faith that carries you through. As long as you maintain a mindset of an inverse ratio of passion to money, you'll be in good shape.
Personally, my passion for and love of photography has made my business more successful than I ever dreamed. I started at the bottom just like everyone else, but I was lucky to have had the same mindset as other successful business owners. Passion is what drives me to always work hard, focus on my business, push forward, improve, serve, and persevere, because I love what I do. If you have a full-time job and it wouldn't be wise to quit and start all over right now, then follow your passion on the side until you can get out. You'll eventually be able to make the jump, and when you do, you'll appreciate the experience that much more.

Tips For Overcoming Fear And Overwhelm In Your Digital Business

When starting out on your business, the entrepreneurial journey cannot and should not be rushed. It is different for everyone because it's a personal journey.
Often, new entrepreneurs in our community who feel overwhelmed send me little emails asking me "how long I think it will take for them to start seeing some sign of life in their new business"
If you are an entrepreneur and you find yourself often asking this question, know that you are not alone. But asking such questions certainly doesn't help produce your success.
It is such a poor quality question that the best you can possibly get out of this frequency is more overwhelm and self-doubt.
In my little greenhouse this question was presented to me yet again by a new member who just joined our mastermind. She is not a newbie as an entrepreneur and has been struggling her way into success for a long time in her traditional business.
As she now seeks to transition into the online business, she's realizing that those same methods can only produce the same old results, which is a far cry from her heart's desire. The new freedom and success that she would love to enjoy in her digital business is going to require a new mindset.
When she asked me " how long is it going to take?" I told her the same thing I am going to tell you, if that's something you often wonder.
It will take only as much time as is needed for you to manifest the prosperity you desire.
Stop asking such low quality questions! They can only sabotage the goodness that's trying to make its way into your life.
Albert Einstein is among the brilliant minds whose known to place emphasis on asking high quality questions.
If you go to Google and type in a low quality question, you can only receive a low quality answer. All the answers are there, but you will only have access to the answers that come close to your question.
Similarly, if you go to life and ask such low quality questions, you can't possibly expect the highest and best answers to make their way into your experience.
So, do yourself and your business a huge favor and stop sabotaging your incubating success with those negative thoughts. This is why we have meetings in my little greenhouse, because I realized the need to create a space where fellow entrepreneurs can come and feel safe enough to dream, to mastermind and to nurture the seeds they've sown in their business.
Since fear is one of the biggest evils in the world, we must always be on the lookout for the tricks and seductive measures it may use to lure us in.
It isn't that fear is powerful; rather it's our minds that haven't been properly trained and developed.
After many years of poor mental and spiritual diets, our mental muscles are frail and so when we have a big dream, when we go after prosperity and freedom through digital entrepreneurship, we've got to make sure that certain measures are also at hand to help strengthen and develop the right mental attitudes and maintain the right atmosphere.
So if you have been struggling with overwhelm, that's OK just learn to move through it quickly.
If you are the kind of person who feels like you have too many ideas that you don't know which action to take first, that's OK too, just don't allow yourself to become paralyzed by that.
I can't tell you how many people I talk to who feel stuck because they don't know whether to podcast, shoot videos, publish articles, write a book, create a course or do webinar trainings first.
Listen, the choices in the online world are endless, if you get caught up in the hype that marketers sell us each day over "which big thing to do now to gain 1000 subscribers fast" you'll never start anything!
Stop being blown away by the winds of online marketing and start following your own game plan.
Designing your digital lifestyle and living life on your own terms begins with learning to carve out your own best path, not blindly following gurus.
If you struggle with thoughts such as:
  • What if I fail?
  • What if I become too successful and end up losing my family relationships, friends etc.
  • What if more success means more hard work?
  • Will things change if I have more money?
  • Who am I to really think I can create an online empire.
These are all just patterns of thought that form your paradigms. It is the paradigm that you seriously want to work on so that you can renew your mindset to one that favors the growth and success of your business.
The topic of paradigms and your mind would require an entire lesson of which time doesn't permit here, but I certainly encourage you to check out our website because there's a downloadable complimentary lesson on the mind and paradigms.
For now, here are a few tips that will help
Whenever you catch yourself in that space of overwhelm, self-doubt, discouragement and fear, do the following:
1. Take 6 deep breaths paying close attention to your breathing.
2. Acknowledge the achievements you've made in your life. There are certain things you've accomplished so far, bring those to mind, acknowledge that, and celebrate it.
3. Connect to your vision and ground yourself in that. Reconnect with why you're even choosing this entrepreneurial path. What is your big "why" - and this is where your purpose comes in.
If the driving power for this chosen path isn't something deep, passionate and beautiful, you won't be able to fuel yourself into victory. The right desire is all-important; so make sure you get very clear on yours.
4. From this space of having connected with your vision and falling back into alignment with it, consider what you have now, where you stand, that you can use to move forward.
Learn to start with what you have, where you are, not what you don't have.
Stop seeing what you don't have or what's missing in order for you to move toward your dream and start finding what you've already got working for you. And I will not accept that you don't have anything - there's always something.
We live and move and have our being in the midst of divine intelligence and divine love; there's got to be something no matter how small that you can use now. Ask the divine power breathing you, and He will give you a clue as to what you could use.
5. It's time for inspired action. Take just one baby step action today that will move you toward your vision.
Something that will move you a step closer in the direction of your dream and that desire that you hold in your heart. It doesn't have to be anything big, just make sure it's meaningful, in service to your dream and that you enjoy doing it.
Finally, may I encourage you to just allow yourself to be in the flow of your life and the season that you're in.
If you stop trying to force things to become what they aren't yet ready to be, you'll dissolve many of the aches, pains and frustrations that currently surround you.
Life is perfectly unfolding, divine intelligence is all around you and as long as you do your part to the best of your ability and in true faith, life will always deliver far richer manifestations than you could ever produce through willpower.

6 Simple Tips To Help Entrepreneurs Handle Challenges

It's not that entrepreneurs are born with it, but the mindset of becoming one and doing things differently is what makes them a different breed.
Life of an entrepreneur is not easy. Every step towards success requires a lot of hard work, planning, perseverance and persistence.
Nothing comes by luck. Leadership, Patience, time management and of course a positive attitude is a must for them.
A famous quote from Picasso "it took me a lifetime to become a master" clearly explains what it takes for entrepreneurs to become a success.
Every day is full of Struggles. Luxurious things are far gone. They live in the world where the opportunity if doesn't knock on the door, they build one. That's how entrepreneurs think and go on.
The challenges they face and how they handle them is worth understanding.
At times being an entrepreneur has its challenges. You find yourself sitting in a corner finding it difficult to come up with simple solutions to the challenges in hand.
I have had a chance to work with quite a few entrepreneurs and have seen them handle challenges using simplest of techniques.
Here are 6 simple tips which will help any entrepreneurs handle challenges:
1. You Can't Walk Alone
See, the question is not how they handle the problem but what creates the problem.
Is it the team? Is the team doing the job properly? Or, something is not fitting?
A team's performance can very well be the difference in between success and failure of an Entrepreneur. Proper team with positive thinking can lead you to the top of stairs.
If you are an entrepreneur and spending most of your time in a negative environment you are landing nowhere. Finding good team is a key factor to handle the challenges faced. With a good team you can delegate work and make them a part of your struggle, where every struggle leads to positive results.
2. Approach Problems with Positive Thinking and a Proper Strategy
Problems are a part of daily routine for startups. Nothing can be accomplished without positive thinking and strength to face those problems.
Every time you see yourself failing, don't give up. Stress is a factor of negative impact.
Focus and think of the positive things in life. A simple thought related to past successes or the very reason you started your company are well enough to take you out of negativity.
Take your time, think and get your act together.
There is no way you cannot overcome the challenge at hand.
3. A Healthy Routine Leads to a Healthy Mind
Some of the most neglected things by entrepreneurs are the most essential elements to help them succeed. Every day you meet entrepreneurs who have back trouble, sleeping disorder which adversely affects their work. The simplest things in life-like sleep, exercise, healthy diet and time management are the most neglected ones.
Entrepreneurs forget that the best way to deal with the challenges they face in day today life involves a healthy body and a healthy mind frame. To dedicate your self to work requires a dedicated mind, which can only be possible if you are well fed, well slept and follow a daily routine of exercises.
Entrepreneurs are all about dedication. Trust me, working all day and night without proper food proper sleep does not allow your body to work with 100% efficiency. It inadvertently leads to health-related issues and stress.
4. Learning to Handle Multi-Tasking
Multi-tasking is a challenge. Entrepreneurs must multi task every minute, every hour.
Inability to multi task effectively takes a toll on the work entrepreneurs do. Don't mix up everything or you will end up sitting in the corner of your field. It is impossible to focus on one particular thing at a time, there is team handling, money management, business plans creation, etc, etc.
But if you mix up everything thing, there will be no work happening as per the plan. Try making a timetable or a schedule your week. Follow your routine, it's a slow process but working likewise will help you longterm.
Also, usage of scheduling, task management apps or simple schedules like Google calendar can help you plan your work and handle the challenges of work in a smart way.
5. If You Don't Understand, Ask
Over the time of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs at times turn in to aloof creatures who are afraid of asking their team for help or owning up to mistakes.
To ask someone for help is a difficult job for them which at times, makes their life more difficult.
There can be challenging tasks which their team members can do better than them but they being the boss will find it hard to own up and do the job themselves.
Asking queries to someone who works under you does you no harm. In fact, it shows you as a mature personality who has no qualms in asking what they do not understand.
6. Add Challenges To Your Daily Routine
It's for sure that you as an Entrepreneur will have challenges, problems every time you take a new step. Don't try to run from them or avoid. Do not let Procrastination become a part of your life.
Avoiding challenging tasks and putting them for a later date will only make them more difficult for you.
These are some lessons for those trying to setup startups.
Mistakes are a part of our day today life but learning from them and ensuring they are not repeated in future is what makes successful Entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs think differently, work differently as they are busy building something out of the box, disrupting existing marketspace and building innovative products.
A positive attitude and discipline is all they need to handle day to day challenges.

Create a Vision Board with Your New Business Goals!
Create a Set of Empowering Affirmations that Support Your Goals!
Meditate and Visualize Your Goals at Least 3 Times a Day!
Speak Your Goals with Boldness and Confidence Daily!
With daily repetition of these practices, you'll reach your goal in record time! You'll begin to spot opportunities that will help you to accomplish your goal. Unexpectedly, people will show up that have the exact resource that you need to accomplish your goal. You'll receive ideas that will expedite your goal and take you further/faster! Consistency is key!

Why Entrepreneurs Need To Workout And Get Fit And Healthy

You wake up to the sound of that not-so-beautiful alarm.
It's early.
Still dark outside.
But, hey, this is what you signed up for when you decided to become an entrepreneur. So you soldier on.
Quick shower. Then you grab a bagel or some other sugar-laden or fatty snack on the way to work.
You arrive at work.
...
10am comes. You're hungry. And you're losing focus. Can't concentrate.
But it's all good. Why? Because you get your coins out and head straight to the nearest vending machine.
You buy your Mars bar, grab another double coffee, and get straight back to work.
Happy days.
Well, for another hour or so. Then it's back to feeling hungry and lethargic until lunch.
Lunch time arrives.
You get a bacon butty. Or something else nice and greasy. And a doughnut for dessert.
Back to work.
The sugar coursing through your veins. You feel great. Full of energy.
Until the post-sugar crash hits you.
HARD.
And guess what? It's only 2pm. You can't really afford to take another break. After all, you've got work to do. And you've already been so unproductive.
The thing is, now you're gonna be even more unproductive. You're just shattered. No energy. Can barely think.
How the hell you gonna come up with a new strategy? Or make an important sales call? Or conduct that interview? Or do whatever it is you need to do to make more money?
The answer?
There isn't really much you can do.
Sorry for sounding harsh. (Well, actually I'm not sorry. Best you hear the truth, right?!)
But at the end of the day, if your body and brain are living off junk food, then it's literally gonna be impossible for you to function anywhere near your best.
(In fact, I might have to get in touch with Tom Cruise... Could be his most impossible mission yet... )
Anyway, the point is this:
If you poured olive oil into a car, would you expect it to move?
Course not.
And the same applies to your body.
If you don't feed it properly, then you're not going to be at your best. And as an entrepreneur (or an executive, or just someone's who's very career-minded and ambitious) then that's gonna be a killer for you. Ultimately, it's gonna mean less money. And even complete failure.
Yet now imagine this scenario...
You wake up naturally after a good solid 8 hours sleep.
You feel refreshed.
You then put on your workout clothes, go downstairs into the lounge, and do a 20-minute workout.
Something quite challenging. Something that's gonna help you lose weight, whilst helping you tone up. Something that's gonna get you feeling great after you've done.
You then shower, before grabbing a nice healthy breakfast. Let's say oats with some blueberries, and a scoop of your favourite protein powder (which tastes just like milkshake by the way).
You then go to work. You're feeling great still.
And guess what?
You get a LOT done!
In fact, you don't even think about food again until lunch. You then eat a healthy lunch of your favourite meat in a wholemeal roll, with a side salad draped in your favourite dressing (you've gotta make a salad taste good, after all!).
You then go back to work. Now feeling even more energetic. Meaning you get even more work done.
You then have a quick snack. Either a smoothie with a few bits of veg and your favourite fruits to sweeten it, or a protein flapjack or something.
Carry on with work. Still feel great. Still getting lots done.
You then finish, go home, and have a meal with the family. Something healthy, but ending with a dessert of whatever the hell you fancy (you gotta stay sane after all!).
Then after spending the evening having fun with your spouse and kids, you decide to call it a night.
You get to sleep nice and relaxed.
Ready to have another great day tomorrow...
So, they're your two options in life.
Which are you gonna choose?

Entrepreneurs and Ideas

Who is an 'Entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is that fellow who, rather than working as an employee, runs a small business and assumes all the risks and rewards of a given business venture, idea, or good or service offered for sale. An entrepreneur is a business leader and innovator of new ideas and business processes.
Entrepreneurs play a key role in any economy. These are the people who have the skills and initiative necessary to improve any economy. The reward for taking the risk is the potential economic profits the entrepreneur could earn.
Yes, I know that's hard. It's a lot of work. And that, folks, are what makes entrepreneurship so friggin' hard. And so friggin' necessary. What can I say, that's life. Besides, look on the bright side: You get to do what you want and you get to do it your way. There's just one catch. You've got to start somewhere. Ideas and opportunities don't just materialize out of thin air.
The only way I know to get started is by learning a marketable skill and getting to work. In my experience, that's where the ideas, opportunities, partners, and finances always seem to come from. Sure, it also takes an enormous amount of hard work, but that just comes with the territory.
If you want to do entrepreneurship right, let me share the story of an African lady you've probably never heard about, her name is Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu.
Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, 34, grew up in Zenabwork, a poor village in the suburbs of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
She came up with her business idea after she noticed most of the artisans in her community, who made beautiful footwear, remained jobless and poor.
Today, her company, SoleRebels, is one the most popular and fastest growing African footwear brand in the world! It sells its 'eco-friendly' brand of footwear in more than 50 countries including the USA, Canada, Japan and Switzerland.
SoleRebels' footwear is unique because it is 100 percent made by hand using locally-sourced and recycled materials like old car tyres and hand-loomed organic fabrics.
A few years ago, SoleRebels became the first footwear company in the world to be certified by the World Fair Trade Organization.
By using local craftsmen, Bethlehem has built a global brand and a hugely successful business that has created jobs and improved livelihoods in her local community.
She started SoleRebels in 2004 with less than $10,000 in capital she raised from family members. Today, the company has more than 100 employees and nearly 200 local raw material suppliers, and has opened several standalone retail outlets in North America, Europe and Asia.
Despite its very humble beginnings, SoleRebels now makes up to $1 million in sales every year, and according to her projections and expansion plans, the company could be making up to $10 million in sales by the end of this year (2016).
Buoyed by her success with SoleRebels, She recently launched Republic of Leather, a new business that trades in luxury leather products like bags, belts and other non-footwear leather accessories.
Bethlehem was selected as the Young Global Leader of the Year 2011 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and was a winner at the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship in the same year. Bethlehem and her inspiring success story with SoleRebels have been featured severally on Forbes, the BBC and CNN.
As an entrepreneur, the sky is your limit. You can achieve anything you want! We can all be Bethlehem, start thinking and creating...
See you at the top!

5 Tips for Creating a Profitable Business Idea

Recent studies and surveys reveal that there's never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. But for some reason though, most people presume starting a new business is a mysterious and a rather risky process. Although they might want to start a business, they fail to take the leap in fear of the risks involved. Honestly, treading on a new territory is only risky as long as it remains unknown; for once you know what you're up to, you 'll also know the ways to master your way around. While the estimates might vary by a small margin, on an average; nearly 600,000 start-up businesses are initiated each year in Canada and the United States alone. However, for every individual who conquers the initial resistance to actually start a business, there are a million others who vow to start their dream business but fail to do so for the lack of conviction and a profitable business idea.
So, how do you land up with a brilliant idea for your business anyway?
Blend in the right juice!
Brainstorm on your strengths.
Brainstorm on your strengths; the reasons you want to start up a business in the first place. The key to a successful business lies in its originality and personal touch. Therefore, it's important you identify your inherent calling. Now, your list might include "I love meeting people, I love playing with numbers, I am a computer geek, I am passionate about great food, I love kids, I am connected to a social cause, I am good with marketing concepts, or I thrive under pressure and perform best when tested". Whatever your strengths might be, simply document everything that flows through your mind.
Take notes.
Next, write down the things you think you need help with. For instance; you are great at your job but don't have the PR skills to market yourself well. You could therefore do well with a PR who'd make you visible and noticed. Understand that there might be people who think like you and therefore are in the lookout for a good PR to market their skills. On the other hand, there could be several other people who are probably just the opposite of you; so they might be great with their PR and communication skills but do not have the technical skills to talk about a product or service as such.
The Market trend.
Now, you might also want to think about the current trend in the market too. List down 5 products and services that you think would make your life easier; make you more productive, efficient and happier in general. This list can range from your personal to your professional life. In the end, you want to identify the top 5 factors that you think could make a world of difference to your overall way of life.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Opportunities & Threats.
Analyze all your strengths and weaknesses along with your driving factors to start a business in the first place. Find a common thread and understand the role it plays in the current scheme of events. How effectively do you think it can utilize your strengths and elevate your pitch in the marketplace? If you think you've got the perfect blend of a cocktail and can back your strengths to serve it well; you've got yourself a game-changing business idea for sure!
Gauge the current worth of your product or service.
No matter how niche or unique your idea is; it can only transform and translate into numbers and profits when you enough and more people willing to endorse and pay for it. Determine who your target consumers are. Recognize who your competitors are while gauging their products, services and presence in the market. Use surveys, promotions and consumer feedback to gauge the current market trend and your space in the marketplace.

5 Tricks To Stay Motivated For The Self-Employed

Working for oneself is an exciting prospect for most, but like any other job, it comes with it's set of challenges. Often times, sole proprietors begin with a bang but begin to lose focus or motivation as time goes on. We thought it would be beneficial to our licensees, and anyone who works for themselves or in small groups, to outline some helpful tips to stay motivated, energetic, and productive.
1) Even if you're not in an office environment, act like you are
Yes, one of the nice things about working for yourself is that ultimately, you are the boss. You decide when to start and end your day, what tasks to take on, what you're going to wear, and so on. While this is a freeing concept, make sure that you're treating your business with the respect that it deserves. Think about some of the structural aspects of an office setting and apply them to your business. Everything from getting up early to getting dressed, taking lunch to finishing up at certain time will help to keep you focused and motivated. Getting into the cycle of what a more traditional job requires will get you into a routine that encourages productivity.
2) Make a schedule
This may seem obvious, but laying out a schedule for yourself provides structure. If you're not ready to schedule out each day, try starting with the upcoming week or even month. This is particularly important for those who tend to procrastinate (you know who you are). With a schedule, you'll know what tasks you want to get done at what time and will help you to keep yourself accountable.
3) Set goals
Humans have a natural disposition toward demonstrating ability in achievement situations. Do yourself and your business a favor and set goals for yourself. With clear goals laid out, you will help yourself stay motivated to achieve those goals. Goals of all sizes are important: Small daily goals, moderate weekly goals, larger monthly goals, lofty annual goals. Your daily goals should help you achieve your weekly goals, which should help you achieve your monthly goals, and so on.
4) Reward yourself
To help hold yourself accountable to your schedule working toward your goals, reward yourself after you've made some progress. Simple rewards like finishing a task before taking lunch will help you work toward completing your daily goals. If you have a distraction that tempts you throughout the day like something on TV or just some fresh air, turn those distractions into rewards for your work. When you reward yourself, you'll stay motivated while taking a positive approach to how you work.
5) Take action
Stop thinking and start doing! Once you've made a schedule and set goals for yourself, it's time to execute. If you overthink what you should be doing then you'll only end up procrastinating. The worst thing that can happen when you start doing is the possibility of failure, and you know what they say... "Failure is the seed of growth and success." Allow yourself to have these learning opportunities. They will only further help you to achieve the goals that you've laid out for yourself. The more you learn about the processes you take, the easier they will become and the more effective you will become at working through them.
Being your own boss can be a daunting task only if you allow it to be. When you walk the walk, make a schedule for yourself, set goals, allow yourself to earn rewards, and act on your goals, you'll be a more productive and happy entrepreneur.
