What Is Required To Be A Startup Woman Business Leader?

Have you ever attended any startup event and noticed that there are far more men than women? Actually, the percentage of female entrepreneurs differs from nation to nation in between one-third and a half of all entrepreneurs. The report says, women may find the startup entrepreneurship quite difficult due to lack of self-confidence and innovative ideas.
Yes, it is true that entrepreneurship is tougher than employment relationship because you should possess competence in all facets of the business and consider various important factors. Nevertheless, the passion for personal achievement has to vanquish all the difficulties.
So, do you have aspirations rising through the ranks in business industry? Then unleash the confidence and determination inside you and step up into the leadership role. So how actually the ladder of success can be climbed up? That's what we will tell you today.
To define yourself as a great startup leader and navigate your path, you need to follow some advice. Here's what you should know -
Be Flexible
If you really want to be a startup leader, be flexible as much as you can. You should be capable of changing or throwing out plans as the business rolls forward. And you need to do it stress-freely. See yourself as a leader of your company. If you fall for emotions, you will end up crushing your company's morale.
Be Focused
Focus is what actually matters when it comes to putting energy and time into activities that are highly effectual for your business and its success. Try not to get off the track with your investments, energy and time.
Be Decisive
You don't need to take dozens of decisions every day. All you need to do is make sound decisions so that the company can roll forward. Yes, as you are a human being, some of your decisions can be wrong. But don't be disappointed or immobilized by indecisiveness, just try to learn from those mistakes and be better.
Bring Stability
Starting a new company and facing all the tide and sail associated with it smoothly are not that much easy. Especially in this male-dominated society, a woman entrepreneur needs to put more willingness and hard work to play her part just like the rest. If you want to harness the leader in you, then stay ready to put in the sweat, even when others are unable to grasp the vision. A successful entrepreneur works through the diverse parts of a knot, rather than attempting to rush through and cut it aside.
Be Visionary
Being visionary is really important when you put your first foot forward in business as a startup leader. Inspire the people around you to have faith in your vision and quest. Assist others to live your passion and make your business grow.
Take Onus
Start taking ownership if you have decided to step into the leadership role. Do not allow any kind of circumstance regulate your pursuit for making an impact on the industry. Stop limiting your view on what you can achieve in the long run. You are the arbiter of your own success. So if you find anything sets you back, preserve and take the onus of that situation.
Spread Positivity
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams.
If you really want to follow this above saying in order to become a great startup leader, have a bulletproof mindset of positivity. You can be great not because of your power, but because of your capability to empower others. And if you stay positive through thick and thin, you can influence others to feel the same way.
Get the Skill of Salesmanship
Salesmanship is associated with the capability of networking and selling. Being a good startup leader, you need to sell the employees to work for you, sell investors to invest in you, sell partners to associate with you, sell customers to buy your products.
Have the Sense of Self-Awareness
The most important step for great leadership starts with becoming aware and connecting with self. Have a profound understanding about your strength and weakness, be honest about the spheres of growth. When you know the spheres you require the most assistance with, you will be able to recognize the apt people to join your team, additionally the best prospective strategic partners for your business.

7 Things You Can Do EVERYDAY To Become A BETTER Entrepreneur!

Becoming a successful entrepreneur is not something that happens over night. It's a daily battle to be your best version of yourself all the time. It takes constant work and self-education.
If you want to run a successful business you have to plan for the future. You should have weekly, monthly and yearly goals. Most importantly it takes action to be successful with those goals. Here are seven things you can do every day to become a better entrepreneur and accomplish all of your goals.
1. Always work on one project at a time.
We are most effective when we are working on one project at a time. Make sure to stick to your plan for the day until moving on to another project. This is crucial in order for each project to be excellent. Remember, were not striving for perfection, were striving for excellence.
2. Don't give your time away to others.
One of the best ways to ruin a productive day is to give into distractions. We all know that distractions come from just about anywhere and they can be very tempting to give into. When we are distracted we lose focus and then lose all control over what were doing. I know that it can be difficult to be the one saying "no" all the time to your friends parties and random beach days but this is a very important part of being a successful entrepreneur.
3. Plan each day the night before.
When we fail to plan we are planning to fail. Without a plan for the day it's very easy to end up at the end of the day wondering why you haven't gotten anything done. Being a successful entrepreneur requires self discipline and a daily plan. Try getting the most difficult task of the day done first thing so that the rest of your day will feel a lot easier and you won't wast a lot of your energy thinking about that "difficult" task all day.
4. Wake up earlier.
Deciding what time to wake up is a personal choice and a lot of people want to be entrepreneurs so that they can wake up when they choose. It is important to feel well rested to get the most out of your day but make sure your not sleeping more than you need to. After all remember that the early bird gets the worm. When you wake up before everyone else you can use the quiet time to meditate on what your plans are for the day and also get some exercise in to clear your mind. This is an important formula for many very successful entrepreneurs.
5. Start your day with a positive attitude.
Right when you wake up begin to think of things that you are grateful for. If this is something that you have trouble with you can read affirmations to yourself to assure that you are feeding your mind what it needs. It can be very difficult to have a positive outlook when the first thing you do is checking your Facebook or emails. There's so much negativity on the internet that it's very important for us to feed our mind with what it needs the most first thing in the morning.
6. Respect your work-life boundaries.
As entrepreneurs, it can be very easy to go weeks without leaving your home. After all there is nobody telling us to stop working or when to start working. We'll maybe the wife/husband but we all know how that goes. We're all about getting the most out of our days and pushing it to the limit. Don't forget to spend time with people that are important to you and on hobbies that you enjoy. This is all part of living a good life.
7. Stay organized.
Staying organized is essential to getting the most out of your days. You want to have a DMO (daily method of operation. Set up a schedule of exactly how many hours and when your going to work on certain tasks. This will save you lots of time and you can get right what you need to do. Yes there will be things that come up everyday that can take you away from your schedule but it will be easy to make these adjustments as they come up.
There are more than seven things to put on this list, of course, but these are a good start to get you on your way.
Overall, the main goal of entrepreneurship is to create freedom in your life and make an impact in the lives of those whom your business serves. To do that, you need a plan, focus and constant growth both personally and in your business. Set yourself up for success each day, and strive to get better.

Overcome the Fear of Becoming an Entrepreneur

"Less than 1% of people have the courage to face their fears, take risks, create their own businesses, change their lifestyles and become an entrepreneur."
Everyone experiences fear in their lives, even the most successful entrepreneurs out there. The people who became entrepreneurs have had to face and overcome their fears before they became entrepreneurs. But most people can't overcome this fear, so they carry on living ordinary lives working for the boss.
Fear can take many forms such as being afraid to change, being afraid of the outcome of failure, being afraid of what others think you are doing etc. Fear also disguises itself as excuses, for instance 'I'm not ready to start my own business because I don't have time'. Underneath this excuse is fear.
I am here to share with you 3 Key Concepts that will gradually diminish the fear of becoming an entrepreneur.
THE VISION CONCEPT
Having a Vision of how you want to live your life as an entrepreneur is a powerful concept. Creating a vision first starts with realising what you really want your life to be like in the future. You will start to focus on the thing that is driving you, and this will be a big part of your Courage and Motivation to take the leap into entrepreneurship.
Creating a vision will not only drive you to achieve what you want, but your fear of achieving it will start to naturally fade away because there is no stopping you if you have a powerful vision backing you up.
THE BELIEF CONCEPT
Having a strong Belief goes hand in hand with your vision. You can have a great vision, but if you don't Really believe in it, you can't be an entrepreneur.
To really believe in something means that you will continue to pursue your belief no matter what struggles you will face to get there, and even more importantly no matter who tells you that it can't be done or it's not possible.
A strong belief will not get rid of your fear completely, but it will allow you to face it, and overtime your fear of becoming an entrepreneur will start to fade away.
THE ACTION CONCEPT
The last piece of the puzzle is taking Action.
If you haven't developed a vision and belief system, then at some point in time you will give up because your mind-set is not in the right place. When your mind-set is built up and ready to go, then it's time to apply yourself as an entrepreneur.
Once you start taking consistent action in your life and business, overtime you will start to see results, your motivation will improve and most importantly your fear will get to a point where it seems like it doesn't even exist anymore.
Remember the 3 Key Concepts
1. Create a Vision of what you want
2. Have the Belief that you can achieve it
3. Take Action to get there

Poor Performing Processes Can Stop Your Growth

Small businesses often launch with manual processes that the owner and the initial support team create. As the business grows, processes become more complex and more people are added to manage the business. Occasionally, these manual processes are augmented with standardized accounting packages and computer spreadsheets. This combination of manual processes cobbled together by spreadsheets is both the enabler for continuing existing operations and a constraint against achieving profitable growth.
With each new customer, the more frustration grows. Gaps in processes, lack of access to information and poor communication between team members begin to plague business performance. Precious time is spent chasing down pieces of paper or reworking customer schedules and installation and support commitments. Manual processes require people to waste time performing mundane, routine and repetitive tasks. Lack of access to information about operations, production and customers means this vital knowledge is stored in different individual's heads. The team works long hours to keep up with the demands of the daily grind to support demand from customers.
The first cracks begin to show when a customer is disappointed because a service technician did not arrive when expected, or the product lacked expected features requiring rework, or the customer's order simply fell through the cracks and had to be rescheduled for a later date. The team scrambles to overcome each one of these examples, taking further attention away from already overloaded work schedules. These cracks also leave long term damaged impressions on customers, who may become reluctant to provide precious referrals to new prospects.
Employees struggle to maintain an optimistic and motivated outlook in this atmosphere. They work hard, yet things still go wrong. They drop everything to correct the error while keeping all of the other wheels turning. When a key employee quits the business, it can have severe detrimental effects. First, is the immediate task of keeping that person's work going, often requiring the owner of the business to step in. Second, is the cost and time required to hire and train a replacement. Third, occasionally key employees leave and start their own businesses to compete with your business, believing they know how to do it better.
The long term costs to the business of operating this way are enormous; a minefield that blows up any further efforts to acquire more customers and grow. Even in its present state, it is a huge drain on productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction. Many of these small business owners balk at the cost of hiring business process experts and acquiring software to automate their businesses. Paying tens of thousands of dollars to third parties can seem to a small business owner like an extravagance that they cannot afford.
This short-sighted perspective is a looming train wreck. Justifying the expense on current narrow margins produced by the business may seem risky when a five-week payroll cycle can play havoc with cash flows. Leaving the system as it is puts the very existence of the business at risk. The right decision is to pause temporarily to retool the business operations, systems and people so that when you put your foot back onto the accelerator the business will grow faster effortlessly, and far more profitably.

What's your mission?
Every business begins with a mission. Call it your goal or the underlying reason for starting your own business. Spell it out and you'll know where you are and where you need to take your business. Your mission statement will work as a light house that gives clear direction. Whenever you feel demotivated, read it aloud... and you'll derive the energy to steer your business to success.

The next step is to have a detailed plan that aligns with your mission. Specify your short term and long term goals and how you will go about to meet these goals.
Maintain a Schedule
Start your day by reviewing your plan. Ensure that your activities are channelized towards your plan.
Delegation is the Key
Often entrepreneurs get bogged down with work. They get so busy in the routine activities that they find no time for review, develop and grow the business. The key to give your business the time it needs and this can be easily accomplished by delegating the routine tasks. You certainly don't need high budget for that. You can easily hire freelancers to help you with the task at affordable prices.
Review, Remind and Meet the deadlines

Often motivation and inspiration is derived through peer pressure. So, keep yourself in good company of budding entrepreneurs and people with positive bent of mind. You can discuss the challenges, seek their guidance or even share goals. Several apps such as KlashApp, ChallengedApp, MakeMe can make this a fun thing for you and your friends.
The Power of Positive Thinking
There's immense power in positive thinking. It can keep you push forward even in times of difficulties. Make it your life mantra and you'll reap the fruits of success.
Get Inspired
Watch inspirational videos or movies to motivate yourself. This will help you a long way to get going.
Quality Time
Spend some quality time with yourself. Take time to listen to music or engage in sport activity of your choice. This will help to de-stress and help in clear thinking.
Take adequate sleep
Sleep puts our mind and body at rest. So, it is vital for long run success. Make it a habit to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sound sleep.

How to Win New Clients for Your Business at Zero Cost

One of the most important things you necessarily need to do to grow your business as a coach, speaker and consultant - or if you are into the business of helping people, is to engage what I call "Marketing Partners".
One of the mistakes I made when I newly started in business as a speaker, coach and consultant, was that I tried doing everything by myself.
And the consequence was that I was worn out, I was stressed and could not get the results I truly desired. Not until I heard about "marketing partners" also known as Joint Venture Partners.
Marketing Partners are those individuals, professionals or organization/businesses who already have relationships with the people you want to attract to your business.
You want to look for those businesses that already have a database of the kind of people you want to attract to your business. Then you build relationship with them, and after a period of time, you approach them and they then introduce what you do to their database, promoting you to their contacts/networks often for FREE.
This is an easy low to no-cost marketing strategy you can use to build a steady stream of new clients with minimal effort and no stress!
So what you want to do, when you go to networking meetings or you live in an area where you can connect with other businesses or experts, who already have relationships with your desired target audience or clients.
You want to identify at least five of them - and go out to get and write down their names and contact details (especially email address and phone numbers).
Next you want to figure out what it is you can do that will benefit them? How can you create value for them?
This is important because you first of all want to go out to them and be of tangible, useful value of them in a manner that makes them appreciate and acknowledge you.
Look for what you can do to serve them first.
Once you've gotten a clear idea of how to do that, make your move to connect with them and present your (hopefully irresistibly packaged) offer.
For instance you could recommend people to them, or share ideas with them or just anything that will help them do what they do better.
You would do this so well that they would begin to feel a drive or hunger to find ways to do something on their part that will benefit you in return.
So, let me end by challenging you to go out and commit to looking for Strategic Alliance Partners or Marketing Partners that you can plan and execute Joint Venture marketing campaigns with, to help you build your business.
If you need help making use of the ideas I've shared here, send me a message using the contact form on at http://www.efeohwofasa.com.
Good luck!
PS: This article was written based on a short experience sharing video I did while taking my regular Monday morning walk in the neighbourhood park, where I live here in the United Kingdom. This early morning walk actually helps me feel alive, energized and centred. I recommend you try it - you may find it does you good as well.

Mental Health's Negative Attitude Toward Marketing

Recently, a board member of a state counseling association to which I was about to present a day-long seminar on practice management and marketing said she was uncomfortable with "advertising" my books and with my "attitude of self-promotion." If I am guilty of "advertising" and "self-promotion," so be it. I am not ashamed.
The mindset of many mental health providers is that we are too good for "advertising," "self-promotion," or "marketing." Somehow these activities are beneath us-even unprofessional. For example, the American Psychological Association until recently did not sponsor continuing education credits for seminars specific to "practice development." I have one word to describe clinicians with this negative view of marketing: "Poor!"
I fervently challenge this negative attitude. The old adage "Build a better mouse trap and the world will come to your door," simply is untrue. You may design a new and better mouse trap, but if no one knows about your invention, you will not be able to distribute it.
You cannot help the client you don't see. You may be an excellent clinician. Yet, if only a few persons know of you and your skill, you won't be successful and many prospective clients will not get the benefit of your services.
Ph.D., Psy.D., EDD., MD., NP., MA., MED, MC, MSW, MFT, LPC, LCSW, etc.. Psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, analyst, clinician, counselor, marriage and family therapist, family therapist, social worker, coach, etc.. Therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, psychoanalysis, analysis, EMDR, family of origin work, solution-focused treatment, medication management, life coaching, etc. Above, are the credentials and titles of professionals who offer private mental health services and the types of services that can be provided. Obviously, the average client/patient cannot differentiate among all these providers or comprehend the various forms of treatment. They likely well be lost in the "alphabet soup" and will be incapable of appreciating one provider over another.
Unless you promote yourself, deserving clients will likely not find you in the morass of initials, titles, and services. Providers of mental health services must promote themselves to rise above the "alphabet soup." We need to let potential clients know of our training, experience, and expertise. Why would any client select a therapist unless that client believed that professional was distinctive and special in some way?
To stand out from the crowd mental health providers can and should do things that "brands" them as an "expert"-such as write articles, speak on the radio and/or TV, speak professionally, or write a book, etc. By engaging in such activities you are advertising and self-promoting-all in a professional, ethical manner. If you won't promote yourself, who will?

Faith in a Seed, Investment in the Roots: Cultivating the Garden of an Entrepreneurial Venture

Henry David Thoreau once stated, "Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed. Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders." While I appreciate this quote, I think that it perhaps puts too much emphasis on the seed (or idea) alone. While a seed is necessary, I feel that attention should turn towards the roots (processes, goals, human capital, etc.) that single seed can lead to developing.
In fact, this observation reminds me of the recent Western Carolina University Leadership Development tour of the Cradle of Forestry in Western North Carolina, where I learned of the approach to life (and development) that an oak tree will adopt. Interestingly, in its first approximately 20 - 25 years of life an oak tree will spend ~70% - 80% of its energy and resources developing a robust and pervasive root system. In this example, while the seed is the starting point, it is the root system of a future, mighty oak that serves as the real genius of its development.
I think it is important to reflect on the oak tree's approach to life. Instead of growing tall and strong first, the oak tree stays small and chooses initially to grow deep, deep into the earth. An oak tree grows with their long or end game in mind, not for the instant gratification and short-term results. This approach to life carries a lesson for all of us as human beings, but takes on a particularly relevant lesson for those of us who, as Machiavelli stated, "choose to take on a new order of things" in the form of innovation and entrepreneurship.
For example, when you think about an entrepreneurial venture, what you see standing above the surface is but a fraction of the energy and results of the effort invested in that organization or idea. For the purpose of this article, the primary components of a start-up's root system are as follows:
• Value Proposition - identifies an aspect of your product/service that makes your offering appealing to potential customers and helps sell and market that product. This serves as the cornerstone to your venture.
• Talent Development/Cultivation - a basic strategy for bringing in, developing, inspiring, and maintaining the best talent associated with your venture with the greater goal of sustainability. Additionally, talent development can help maintain consistency, trust, and more exceptional customer service or product development, while aligning with the application of your value proposition.
• Strategic/Business Plan - frames your venture in a standard way by providing objectives and methods/strategies for reaching them. This is a recognized document that potential funders can relate to and it serves as a more accurate and robust expansion of your idea/product, the value proposition, and the stakeholders involved.
Finally, as an entrepreneur, the most valuable lesson to take away from the mighty oak is to remember to stay true to your roots. By doing this, you will invest your time, energy, expertise, and resources into your roots. If you nurture your roots, they can support you as you continue to grow to new heights and new depths!

6 Awesome Tips for Starting a Business Overseas

Let's do this step-by-step. It's a challenging road to success. I ran an online business in Asia focusing on providing a platform for local and foreign businesses to integrate and automate paid advertisements on social media. The platform provided unique written, designed and tested campaigns, which could be tweaked accordingly. It was a very challenging task to meet all the demands of (potential) customers, but it was well worth it.
Before packing your bags, start reading these 6 awesome tips for starting a business overseas:
1. Local Culture
The local culture and habits are extremely important for any entrepreneur who's looking to start a business in another country. It is essential to know the ins- and outs of the local environment and how to get around. As hard as it might be, try to find a local investor or a business advisor who can inform and explain key factors of doing business in a specific area. Depending on your business and target market, get to know local consumer behavior. It's key for your potential business to have local partners who are trustworthy; this key point can make or break your business.
Local business events are a great way to meet new people in the area. In case you are looking to build a network before flying out, which is a smart thing to do, use your current network to see if you can connect to someone doing business in that area. Another possibility would be to join expat communities and ask questions there. Join Facebook groups! They are surprisingly effective.
2. Language
Studying a new language is hard and very time-consuming. It may even present a bigger barrier for you than running an actual business. However, learning the local language will prove to be a huge advantage when doing business with local people. Especially in Asian countries, people will show you more respect and trust when you speak the language. Besides the fact that communication will be easier, it's easier to meet new people and you'll most likely get better deals.
3. Way of Life
Integrate with the local community and neighbors through events and other get-togethers. This is a great way to meet new people, potential clients, potential business partners and besides that, a great way to learn more about the country and its culture. It's an awesome experience to see, understand and feel how the local people live their life. Learn about their values and vision in life. Study the local market and local economy and how that knowledge can profit your business.
4. Competition
It is critical for entrepreneurs, regardless of country or business industry, to fully understand the competition. However, entrepreneurs should not only focus on the current competition model. Have a look at what happened in the past, try to find companies in your industry or somewhat related who have failed to succeed. Examine their conditions and learn from the mistakes those companies made. After all, learning from mistakes is a highly valuable asset. Also, find companies that have succeeded in their market and compare them to the failed companies. Figure out the key differences and implement this in your own business plan.
5. Network
Networking is one of the most important key aspects of running a successful business. As you make the move to another country, the network you build in your home-country will become less valuable abroad. Therefore building an international network is increasingly important. Meeting the right people at the right time can make a huge difference in your business' growth. As mentioned earlier, try to connect with expats or already established communities in the local area. Many Asian countries have specific groups that organize events for members for a small monthly fee. Or join Facebook groups that are free and offer a community atmosphere.
When I moved to Asia to build my own startup, I tried to connect to many businesses at a very early stage by emailing or calling them. It was extremely beneficial to meet businesses and other entrepreneurs and resulted in a lot of new connections and trusted contacts. It turned out to be a valuable for both sides, short- and long-term.
6. Health Insurance
An obvious, but often overlooked, factor when moving to a different country is health insurance. Many expats don't necessarily recognize the importance of good international health insurance coverage. I highly recommend finding a health insurance plan that fits your personal needs and select the most suitable plan for you. For example, if you require routine visits to a therapist or chiropractor, finding a suitable doctor in another country can be difficult. Check with your insurance provider whether they keep a list or communities of the best doctors in your new country. This will take the stress out of searching for a doctor as you're simultaneously settling in.
Starting my own business abroad was single-handedly one of the most exciting things I've ever done in my life, but it was not an easy thing to do by any means. Don't just randomly choose an industry or country, but take your time, be patient and come prepared. Of course, keep in mind some of my tips, I'm positive it will contribute to your success and give you an experience of a lifetime, something you will never forget!

Why the Mindset of an Entrepreneur Is Important

Various emotions and thoughts cross your mind when engaging in the idea of owning your own business. Many entrepreneurs get a sense of excitement while also feeling overwhelmed. You then relish in the idea that you can be your own boss that writes and cashes your own checks. However, shortly after all the initial excitement has passed, you begin to wonder will my product or service work, will it sell, or will I be able to take care of myself? With so many questions that you establish a great response for, doubts and uncertainty often formulate an antithesis in the shadows of our mind. Preparing and reframing your mindset about yourself and your business will determine how you operate and make your business successful.
I once heard Bishop T. D. Jakes say in his sermon entitled "A Changed Mind," you can never change your reality without first changing your mind. This statement has stuck with me ever since. It sounds so simple, but when you think about it, it is powerful. How often have you had preconceived notions about someone or something until you interacted with it or them and all a sudden, your perception is no longer the same from before your encounter? For instance, getting on a roller-coaster is frightening (especially the Fury 325 at Carowinds) but once you get on and scream to the top of your lungs when it stops most people want to ride it again. It wasn't that the ride got less scary it's just your mindset changed. What you believe will determine how you respond. If you're constantly thinking, I cannot do this or I know "it" will fail, it is more likely that you will not be successful. It's not because you did not have a good idea, or you weren't capable, but you could not see past your doubt to see the success that could have been.
When starting a business, you must understand that there will be natural deterrents that may arise, whether it be capital, office or storage space, or even market potential if you are trying to create a demand. Nevertheless, how you view these obstacles makes all the difference. Having limited capital may require you to utilize every possible resource you may have. Do not be afraid or too prideful to ask for help. Not having enough office or storage space will make you strengthen your organization skills. Creating a demand for your product or service will cause you to be more creative than you ever been. It's all how you perceive a challenge to be. Even with the unknowns do not allow fear to cripple you, instead let it be a motivator. We have an innate ability to fight or flight in any given situation. Choose to fight! Refuse to give up because of your past mistakes. In fact, reframe those mistakes as learning opportunities and never doubt your ability to break bad habits.
I would also like to stress the importance of having confidence in yourself. Think of it this way, if you had to buy a product or service from Eeyore or Tigger (characters from Christopher Robbin's Winnie the Pooh) who would you patronize? Eeyore, the humdrum individual who was not sure of himself and found every opportunity to tell you how miserable his life was or Tigger the jovial, outgoing, charismatic who loved to laugh and have fun even when working? I would go for a Tigger every time. How you view yourself is how others will view you. Be your own motivator and surround yourself with cheerleaders. Having a good support system is very integral in the pursuit of turning your dream into a reality.
Finally, as the adage goes, birds of a feather flock together. Surround yourself with successful entrepreneurs. Glean from their past business mistakes and triumphs. Read entrepreneurial magazines and books, network by joining professional groups or clubs, and engage and talk with potential customers about the product or service you are trying to offer. Be unyielding in your pursuit of changing your mindset when it comes to yourself and your business. What you believe is how you will succeed. Believe the best, speak life into your business, and shut down the voice of your insecurities. After all of that take the leap of faith and fly.

Business Partnership: Proceed With Caution

Is a business partnership the right fit? In my aspiration to become an entrepreneur I made a conscious effort to learn about entrepreneurship. Aware of the various types of business structures, in my planning for entrepreneurship I contemplated a partnership. Fortunately, being a student of a masters in entrepreneurship program and from friends who are entrepreneurs, I've gained some insight. What I've learned is when it comes to business partnering know these four things: Who, What, When, and Why.
Who Will Be Your Partner(s)?
Often the "go-to" for a business partnership are friends. Friendship is not enough reason to join into a business partnership. Case in point, I know an entrepreneur who entered a business partnership with a friend. Months in, she realized she couldn't partner with her partner. Their ideas on how to run the business were vastly different and they clashed so much they couldn't finalize many decisions. The partnership had to be dissolved to keep the business, and the friendship intact. As the old saying goes "It's not personal, it's business". In selecting a business partner think of - who would be a good fit for the business? Are you like-minded about the business goals and direction? Who has what it takes to fulfill the business goals and make the business grow?

What Will Be The Responsibilities of Each Partner?
Partnerships don't have to be 50/50. A rule of thumb when determining partnership percentage is to weigh it based on the contributions of the partner(s). Does the investment (time, talent, treasure) of each partner warrant the percentage of equity? Many enter a seemingly 50/50 partnership, assuming the cost and responsibilities will be split equivalently but this is not always the case. There are times in partnerships where 50/50 is theoretical, not practical. Therefore, a partnership agreement is imperative. It will spell out the responsibilities and contributions of each partner (experience, skill set, investment, etc.).
When To Partner?
A business that doesn't start out as a partnership may at some point need a partner. Aspiring and current entrepreneurs should think about if or when their business would need a partner. For example, when expanding or starting a new venture a partnership may be necessary to offset the associated cost and responsibilities. A benefit of sole proprietorship is it allows for the experience of sole ownership, and for time to monitor business and determine the need, if any for a partnership. To help decide if and/or when to partner, outline circumstances and conditions in which a partnership will be needed or beneficial.
Why Partner?
Partnering in business can allow for the contributions of skills, talents, funds and the sharing of responsibilities that propel a business into going and growing. In some cases, partnering is necessary to start a business, expand or keep a business operating. Entering a business partnership - required or desired, is not a decision that should be made lightly. Choosing to enter a business partnership should be a thought out informed process for all involved.

Five Things No One Tells You About Entrepreneurship

The internet has made the idea of starting a business more accessible than ever before. And that is just what people are doing. However, the journey of entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. Having a marketable product is not enough. Being talented enough to market your services for hire does not mean you know how to run a business. After all, 90% of all start-ups fail within the first 5 years.
Here are some things to keep in mind when you start your business:
1. Entrepreneurship is lonely
If you are like most entrepreneurs, you don't have a lot of capital to hire a permanent staff in the beginning. That means, it will be you and your laptop for a while. No one to help you come up with ideas. No one to reassure that everything is alright when you have a bad day. No one to help you generate ideas. It's just you. Depressing. After all, we're human. We aren't designed to work alone. To counter the bad effects of loneliness, join entrepreneur groups, have some entrepreneurs in your close contacts that you can reach out to when you need a voice of affirmation and encouragement.
2. You don't know what you don't know
I am a scientist. I know how to make the product. Initially, I did not know anything about marketing and advertising. I had to learn. There are plenty of resources on the internet and in libraries to help you along the way. Establishing a relationship with a business mentor will help point you in the right direction on where to get started. It's important have some idea of what you need before you start spending money with paid services to do things for you. How else will you know if you're going to get what you paid for?
3. Your mindset determines your paycheck.
The owner's mindset makes and/or breaks the business. Devoting time, energy and money to your personal development is just as important as devoting those things to process improvement and building a team. Spend time meditating, reading and visit a therapist regularly. Your business depends on it.
4. You will have to hire a team.
Yes, sometimes you will be able to get the task done best BUT you will get more done with help. You are not good at everything. Assemble a team of experts and all you will have to worry about is maintaining your own ability. Your business will grow faster. Two brains are better than one.
5. Your journey is your journey. Patience is a virtue.
In the age of social media, it is easy to start comparing someone else's progress to your own. Do not beat yourself up. You journey is your journey. Do not rush it. Do not compare it to someone else's, especially based on social media posts. Those posts are a snapshot of the highlight reel. You really don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
Yes. Entrepreneurship is hard and not for the faint at heart but when done correctly the rewards outweigh the risks. Connect with other entrepreneurs so you feel part of a community. Build a relationship with a business mentor. Learn skills you don't already have. Your daily routine should include improving your mindset. Hire a team. And, most of all, be patient. Your time will come.

Accessing a worldwide audience
Through the Internet, you can reach thousands and thousands of people around the world. With a well-thought marketing strategy (SEO, etc.), you can thrive in your online business. Question: how many people use the Internet daily? More than 3 billion. Think about that.
The freedom that inspires you to work more
Not being tied to a nine-to-five job is empowering and drives you to work better and harder.
