Right Now Is the Best Time To Become Your Own Boss

There has never been a better time to live the self-employed life. Jacob Morgan, co-founder and principal of Chess Media Group and author of The Future of Work (2014), researches how market trends, demographics, political imperatives and advances in technology will likely impact the global workforce over the coming years and his findings indicate that self-employment has significant momentum."The picture for freelancers is very good. It's going to be a huge area going forward."
Morgan points out what most traditionally and independently employed workers have learned over the past two decades: the steady paycheck is going the way of the dinosaurs. Those who are now age 50 years or above started a career and expected to work steadily and at increasing pay for 25 or 30 years and then collect a pension as a reward for their contributions. Employment at one company was considered an accomplishment and job-hopping was seen as disloyalty, if not instability.

Morgan's research shows that now, the average worker is employed at a place of business for about five years and Millennial Generation workers last an average of three years. "Nowadays, when a company is struggling, the first thing it tends to do is cut jobs."

Because freelance Solopreneur service providers typically have a list of active clients, we are somewhat insulated from the whims of business owners. We win some projects and lose others, but we will not be laid off and abruptly lose all income. Our revenue-generating billable hours are sometimes less than ideal; however, finding project work is much easier than finding traditional employment that pays a living wage, especially when the job seeker is age 50 years or older.
Self-employment allows more opportunities to create money-making options for yourself. The flip side of the uncertainty inherent in self-employment is that becoming your own boss could earn you a great deal of money. Traditional employment comes with income caps and many employees have been disappointed to learn that generous merit increases, bonuses and sales commissions are harder than ever to come by. Government statistics for the past 20 years have shown that middle class wages have become stagnant.

As companies shed permanent workers, the demand for project-specific professional help continues to rise and for freelancing Solopreneurs, that is a good thing. Much depends upon one's skill set and the local economy, but the next three years and most likely more than that, look promising. Deciding which of your competencies are the most marketable and discovering how to connect with available projects forms the heart of the freelance Solopreneur business model.

In 2010, Intuit predicted that by 2020, the independently employed workforce in the U.S. would rise to 60 million. There are now numerous associations, such as the Freelancer's Union https://www.freelancersunion.org, that offer professional resources and other support to Solopreneurs, including affordable medical and dental insurance. Co-working spaces are available to those who need modestly priced per diem meeting space or shared office space for those who would like to interact with a cohort of like-minded Solopreneur professionals.

Morgan recommends that those who have full-time employment consider taking on freelance work as an experiment. "Now is an excellent time to do it, but I would do it in a smart way... do a little moonlighting and see how it goes. If it goes well, devote more effort to it. If not, you'll have learned it's not for you."

Being Your Own Boss: 5 Benefits To Being Your Own Boss

Having an employer is nice and there are plenty of benefits to that. However, being your own boss is awesome and there are hundreds of benefits to it! I'm going to go over 5 of those benefits within this article, explaining why so many people strive to see a day where they are their own boss, calling the shots and sending the money around. Being your own boss, however, is certainly not for everyone! Be sure to figure out what you want to do in life before jumping right into something.

1. Massive Progression - I, personally, have no interest in doing something for the rest of my life without a wide room of growth and promotion. If I am going to be employed, I want to have the ability to be the Chief Financial Officer in a few years. When you are your own boss, you can do exactly that starting with Day One.

2. Full Control - When you are your own boss, you call the shots! Deadlines, of course, do still exist! However, if you don't want to complete those deadlines, you technically don't have to. There is absolutely nobody to tell you what to do or how to do it. You could take an entire week of work off and not have to stress about it. However, if you are wanting to be successful and make a good income from being your own boss, you'll need to take the bull by the horns and get some quality work done!

3. Flexibility - Does working a basic 9 to 5 not for work you? I don't blame you! Being your own boss allows you to make your own schedule. If working first shift on Monday and third shift on Tuesday works for you, so be it! If you'll be starting your first shift work-day two hours late, who cares? You have the ability and power to make a decision wisely in regards to your own schedule and how you get things done!

4. Enjoyment - In a world of debts and bills, we can't accept not having a job. Therefore, sometimes we accept a job that we don't want to do. We may even accept a job in which we downright hate! With being your own boss, you are able to choose what you do and that means you will be able to do something you actually enjoy! You are able to do something you wake up every morning ready and excited to do! You are able to go into work with a smile on your face, money in your wallet, and ready to make it happen!

5. Big Bucks! - If you are your own boss or wanting to be your own boss, you likely want a work environment with freedom or you want the "big bucks"! Being employed provides you with a "safe" income, however, the income isn't really that safe when you could get fired at any moment. Being your own boss allows you to be more risky, which means you have the potential to make a huge amount of money in a little amount of time. The amount of money you earn, is entirely up to you.
Being your own boss doesn't have to remain a dream! You can get this done and be successful, anybody can! It all is going to depend on what you want and how badly you want it. If you want to enjoy any of the benefits listed above, understand that it will require work, you will have to deal with the daily problems every boss to ever exist has gone through! Take a look at the rewards and make sure being your own boss is something you are able to do or even want to do!

Become Your Own Boss - Here Are 3 Pieces Of Advice To Live And Die By

If you would like to start your own business but do not know where to begin, you are very lucky today. I will share with you some vital tips to help you get on the right track towards success. These tips can help you get started on your journey to get out of the rat race, join the new wealth club, and create a new future for yourself. In fact, given the new times we live, most people are figuring out that the "jobs" are a thing of the past. The internet gives people like you and me leverage. People who have mastered the art of marketing via internet are now the world's new and improved entrepreneurs.
Here Are The Three Tips
Tip #1
Hold Yourself Accountable:
If you are unhappy with your current circumstance, you must take the time and admit that you are the only one that can change it. You must admit to yourself that you are the issue. It does not do you any good to blame the economy or presidents, boss at work, or any member of your family. Change will only happen when you make the ultimate decision to make it happen.
Tip #2
Identify yourself
You must give yourself permission to explore. You have to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. You must understand your personality, age, and social style. In addition, you must listen to the little voice inside your head. As people, we often ignore our intuition although deep down in our spirit we know the truth.
You should ask yourself this:
What gives me energy even when I am tired?
What product or service would I be most interested in bringing to the market?
What opportunity will stand the test of time? Will that particular market disappear in the next 15 years?
Tip #3
When you plan, you give yourself a better chance to experience success
Unfortunately, most people do not plan. They react of off emotion and jump straight into the opportunity. If you put together a business plan, you will gain some clarity, some focus, and some confidence. A plan does not have to be perfect or it does not have to be more than one page.
Some questions to ask yourself are:
What type of company will I build?
Who will I be serving?
What are my strategies and objectives that I must put into place in order to reach my goals?

Become Your Own Boss - Avoid These Common Piitfalls

Entrepreneurs all over the world always run into the marketplace with hopes and dreams of success. However most of them fall flat on their face because they run into common pitfalls. I am happy to share with you today some common pitfalls to avoid if you want to achieve success in the business world. Unfortunately, there are 470,000 businesses that close every year and there are 400,000 that open every year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. As you can see, more businesses are being closed down as opposed to the amount starting up. To be fair, not all business exits are bad, sometimes the owner retires or gets another job.
#1 Empty Pockets
I believe the number one reason why businesses fail is because the owner does not put enough money into the start-up.
#2 Overconfidence
More times than not, sometimes owner get to full of themselves and start ignoring critics. I am not here to say that sometimes they can be right. As a business owner, you will have to humble yourself sometimes and absorb constructive criticism from your critics.
#3 Poor Price Point
The customer is not always right. Although the consumer controls the market, sometimes what they are willing to pay for the product or service does not sync with reality. You will have to test different price points to get a certain overview on what price your market is willing to pay.
#4 communication issues
As an owner, you will have to make sure that you hold communication as a priority in your brand. You must make sure that your employees and clients remain comfortable with talking to you about any issue.
#5 A stale market
Huge employers know that it is crucial to refresh their brand every 12-15 years. The reason for this, in my opinion, is because sometimes people can get bored of what you have to offer. When the market feels like they know everything about you,in my opinion, they lose interest. You must constantly find ways to re-brand and restructure your business to always keep your market on their feet.
If you want to see success in anything in life you must educate yourself on the industry you want to be affiliated with. It will not be easy but if you avoid these tips that I have shared with you, you will absolutely see success. Luckily for you, you can leverage the internet to help you determine the best opportunities to get into.
